Project Overview:
The Problem:
Many people don't recycle plastic water bottles which contributes to pollution.
Single-use plastic bottles are contributing to pollution and many people don’t recycle them. Before lockdown the most common point of purchasing bottled water was on-the-go or at work. During lockdown the consumption of bottled water fell from 58% to 30%.
The Solution:
Reusable and returnable water bottles given out in stores.
Stores and cafes will offer the consumer a reusable and returnable water bottle in exchange for a £1 deposit. These water bottles will be filled with tap water and will need to be returned within a 14 day period to a participating cafe or store. This water bottle will be a cheaper alternative to bottled water which will be the main incentive for people to purchase it.
